BRIEF BACKGROUND

At age 26, Terri Schindler-Schiavo, suffered brain damage from what appears to be a violent beating and possible strangulation by her husband. Now she has been sentenced to death.

Terri receives her food and water by means of a feeding tube. Her other bodily functions are physically stable. Terri smiles, laughs and cries. She recognizes voices and responds. At times, she vocalizes sounds, trying in her best way to speak. Terri is not a brain dead vegetable nor a "houseplant" as implied by her husband's attorney. Terri is not on a respirator or any artificial life support. She is a living human being and has a God-given right to live.

Her husband, Michael Schiavo, who petitioned the court and won guardianship of Terri, began withholding any and all forms of rehabilitation therapy, including range of motion immediately after receiving a large sum of money in a medical malpractice suit, over ten years ago.

Now, Judge George W. Greer issued a verdict granting authorization to kill Terri by having her feeding tube removed, and forbidding any oral sustenance being given. Terri can swallow, although she would have to be weaned from the feeding tube. Judge Greer’s verdict will terminate Terri's life in 10 to 14 days. Her death will be by painful dehydration and starvation. It is "murder by torture." Terri's feeding tube was removed at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15th.

There is something you can do to help Terri live. Your action is desperately needed to help save Terri's life. Terri has indicated that she does not want to die. Judge Greer's order violates Florida law, which clearly protects people in Terri's condition.
Governor Jeb Bush claims he cannot override a court order. He lies. Bush requested and received at least six memorandums from legal experts outside of his administration who all agree, he not only has the authority, he is mandated by Florida law and the Constitution of Florida state to assure that the law is faithfully executed. He can and he MUST protect Terri -- even to the point of bringing in the militia, if necessary, to see that the law is enforced.
