PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2001-- Rollout leverages first-mover advantage in estimated $70 billion market Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSX.Q) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Digital Angel Corporation, has selected Monday, November 26 as its official launch date for Digital Angel (TM), the first-ever combination of advanced biosensor technology and Web-enabled wireless telecommunications linked to GlobalPositioning (GPS).

Initial marketing campaigns will focus on South Florida, with its high concentration of favorable demographic groups.

Richard J. Sullivan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital Solutions, commented on the launch: "On Monday, November 26th, the world will become just a little bit safer with the much anticipated launch of Digital Angel products. We are very excited to deliver Digital Angel's unique Personal Safeguard Technology to an eager marketplace and to enhance our first-mover advantage in a $70 billion market. In addition to our initial marketing campaign, we will begin product delivery to our Digital Angel.net pre-registration subscribers. Upon completion of this regional rollout and a thorough evaluation of new subscriber demographics and characteristics, we will extend the rollout into additional markets nationwide."

Mr. Sullivan continued: "The announcement of this product release date, combined with our recently announced merger of Digital Angel with Medical Advisory Systems (AMEX: DOC.A), sends a very clear message to advanced technology investors. Applied Digital is determined to identify and develop advanced digital technologies that improve quality of life. Our Thermo Life(TM) body heat generator is another example. Once commercially viable, these technologies will be merged with a management team and operating platform from a complementary company in order to enhance Applied Digital Solutions shareholder value through direct financialcontribution and indirect investment gains. In each case, we will determine the most effective means of delivering equity participation to our shareholders."
