DO notice that the records-gathering is being implemented by State Governments.  Like the proverbial broken record, we repeat... most ALL of the intrusive, unConstitutional acts being committed are emanating from the State level, passing legislation implementing Federal Law which otherwise would NOT pertain to the States.

Doctors will be fingerprinted, profiled by end of the year

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Florida doctors with skeletons in their closets may soon have no place to hide them.

The state Department of Health this month will begin sending out fingerprinting cards to 60,000 physicians, chiropractors, osteopaths and podiatrists so that the FBI can run background checks on them.

The legislature mandated the fingerprinting after a doctor with an extensive criminal record was found to be practicing in Florida. The law requires all doctors to undergo the checks as a condition of getting their licenses renewed.

Aside from preventing doctors from misrepresenting themselves, the checks will make it easier for hospitals, insurance companies and other doctors to get background information, health department officials said.

Doctors previously were required to report their criminal pasts.

The Department of Health this month also began posting profiles of doctors on the Internet and by the end of the year will have a central database containing information on doctors' credentials.

Health department officials say Florida is believed to be the second state to fingerprint doctors and create an Internet data base. Massachusetts also has both programs.
